The “E” in E Project

58 Ford Edsel
The E Project was originally named after the Edsel, a marque of the Ford Motor Company from 1958-1960. The car was named after Edsel Ford, Henry Ford’s son and one-time company president. The marketing debacle, poor timing, and outlandish upfront costs turned the Edsel into one of the largest product failures in American manufacturing history.

So, why name a company The E Project? Well, other than a twisted sense of humor, for the full story you’ll have to ask Ken Crow, the theater’s founder. The Edsel was a product of its surroundings, designed to be a car for the people, a new idea with familiar roots. The intentions behind the Edsel were truly to supply Americans with a great new alternative to the norm, and that’s what we embrace at The E Project.

For all it’s quirkiness, we embrace the underdog spirit of the Edsel. And now having survived almost 3 times as long as the ill-fated car for which we’re named, The E Project proves that great ideas and quality succeed when you find the right audience. We hope you’re part of that audience!
