On Your Feet
"ON YOUR FEET" is a monthly workshop process that brings playwrights, directors, and actors together to read and lightly stage two scenes based on the playwright's submissions and the number of actors and directors in attendance. Directors have 1.5 to 2 hours to bring the scenes to life before we gather to share the scenes with each other.
The objectives of "ON YOUR FEET" are as follows:
- To build a creative home for playwrights, directors, and actors
- To develop new plays with the intention of moving them into staged readings and full length productions
- To explore relationships with new playwrights, directors, and actors
If you haven't done so already, please email theedgesubmissions@gmail.com no later than one week prior stating if you are attending and which role you are interested in: actor or playwright. And remember, it's currently first come, first serve for acting roles.
All participation is free and artists are encouraged to invite friends and family to the mini-performances (beginning usually around 5pm each workshop Saturday), which are also free!

"As a result of On Your Feet, I was able, without a big effort, to pinpoint the two places where the script had stumbled. Now I have a clear idea on just how to fix those problems. Thanks so much. It was a fun afternoon". Jim Downing – Playwright
"It was a unique and illuminating experience to see two different versions of the piece staged back-to-back. [Thanks to the workshop,] I learned a lot about the play and feel that I have an informed perspective on how to move forward with it."
Jeff Neuman -- Playwright
